Syrian Orthodox Church, Piravam, built circa 1000 AD

The difficulty of taking good pictures of the ancient churches in Piravam is again illustrated in this photograph. I took this picture from Pazhur, the opposite bank of the Muvatupuzha river. The actual view from there is really magnificent; but the effect is lost on the shot using a 50 mm lens. I am sure an expert photographer can capture some of the effect. I do not like the paint on the granite embankment. The stones with their natural colors would have been more aesthetically pleasing.
