Muvatupuzha River At Mulakulam, Looking North

There is a very pretty and easily-accessible spot on the banks of Muvatupuzha river along the Mulakulam-Vellur road. The river becomes visible from the road when you travel about 1 km from Mulakulam. The water is crystal clear. The river bed is sandy and there is a fine beach. You can usually see a couple of large Kerala-style canoes (vallam) engaged in the activity of dredging the river bed for sand. The ferry that runs from Karikod to Kalampoor can be seen in this picture.
