Syrian Orthodox Church, Mulakulam, built circa 1600 A.D.

I found it very difficult to take good pictures of the ancient Syrian Christian churches in Piravam. There are few vantage points to shoot from, due to the hilly terrain. The lush vegetation blocks the view quite a bit. It also complicates the exposure decisions for a good-quality shot. This view of the eastern side of the Mulakulam Syrian Orthodox church was taken from the south side of the church. I did not have access to any written records regarding the history of this church. It is thought to be at least 400 years old. The cross visible in this picture is made of iron. It has no sign of rust in an environment where humidity is near-100% year round.
